Ruixue Zhang

Ruixue Zhang, the piano faculty at School of Music, NUA. She was admitted to the Primary School attached to the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing at the age of nine under the guidance of Professor Manchun Chen and was qualified for entering the Middle School without audition. Ruixue chose to continue her piano studies in the United States, in which she receives her Bachelor, Master, and Doctor of Musical Arts degree at Texas Christian University, The Juilliard School, and Northwestern University, respectively, in which she studied with Tamás Ungár, Yoheved Kaplinsky, Matti Raekallio, and James Giles. Ruixue is the national winner of the Music Teachers National Association Young Artist Competition in the United States, the winner of Schlern International Competition in Italy and Zhou Guangren Young Pianist Award in China. She also received prizes at the Hilton Head International Piano Competition, The Kawai Asia Piano Competition, and Jefferson Symphony International Young Artists Competition, etc. Ruixue has performed widely across China and the United States, and has appeared with multiple orchestras at important venues under the baton of renowned conductors such as Barry Douglas and Li Xincao. She was invited to perform at Tokyo University of the Arts, the Embassy of Hungary, and the Embassy of Grand Duchy of Luxembourg in Beijing. Ruixue recorded performance demonstrations for The Collections of Sonatinas and participated in the program of A Century of Piano Solo Works by Chinese Composers, in which she recorded Scenes by composer Jianzhong Wang and published a performance analysis article of the piece in Chinese piano periodical Piano Artistry.
